Eastern Christian School is proud to be accredited through Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Accreditation cycles typically last for 7 years and then require review. The process of getting accredited is a long one that requires a massive commitment from school staff. We are happy to report that, after a 4 day on-site visit, Eastern Christian School has been recommended for renewal of accreditation for the next 7 year cycle!
Here’s a helpful link from Middle States.
Accreditation is a key piece to our core value of continuous improvement. We are committed to striving for excellence in everything that we do. Having a reputable, objective, outside accreditation team come to our school and review 12 facets of our school to ensure that we are living up to our claims ensures that we are on the right track as a school community. A positive review from this team indicates that we are primed for growth across in a number of key areas.
It’s actually relatively rare for a school to pursue full accreditation for grades PK3 through 12th grade. Many high schools seek accreditation for the benefit of college placement, but far fewer preschools, elementary schools, and middle schools pursue this designation. At Eastern Christian School, however, we are interested in pursuing excellence as an entire school system: three campuses, one school. To put it simply, as members of the Eastern Christian School community, you can be confident in this accreditation recommendation that we are who we say we are, and that EC truly is an amazing school!
We were pleased to receive the oral report from the accreditation team late Friday afternoon. The team brought several commendations for the hard work that we have done in preparing for this accreditation and for our programs and community. The team also brought several recommendations for Eastern Christian School to continue down the improvement path. While the formal report has not yet been issued from Middle States (we’ll get that in October), the accreditation team unanimously recommended that Eastern Christian School remain accredited for the next 7 year cycle, through the end of the 2025 school year!
We were very pleased with the positive recommendation from the visiting team. We look forward to the formal Middle States report in October. Most of all, we look forward to the next seven years of carrying out the plans that this process have produced and continuing to partner with Christian families in an excellent, Christ-centered education!
